Conference on Real Estate Regulation Rules, GST and Affordable Housing by FICCI

Mr Navin M Raheja, CMD, Raheja Developers graced the occasion by his presence at FICCI on 4th May, 2017 at FIICI, Federation House, FICCI, New Delhi.

Mr Navin M Raheja shared the dais with some of the prominent names; Mr Dilbag Singh Sihag, RERA Haryana Committee & Chief Town Planner, Haryana, Mr Anthony De Sa,Chairman RERA & Former Chief Secretary, Madhya Pradesh, Ms Vini Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary, Housing Urban Development, Punjab, Mr Anil Kumar Sharma, Chief Legal Advisor, Delhi Development Authority, Mr Uday Pratap Singh, Interim Regulator RERA and Vice Chairman, DDA.

The regulator should act as a facilitator who should protect the interest of the customers as well as developers. Highlighting the issues of the industry, he said that a national portal should be in place for online clearances and the government must review some of the provisions such as providing refund in 45 days, which has practical implications so as to allow the industry to work effectively," said Chairman FICCI Real Estate Committee and CMD Raheja Developers Ltd., Navin M. Raheja.

RERA had been brought about to lend transparency, accountability, quality, timely delivery and efficiency to the sector. The Act would also help in building the confidence of the consumers and would also provide a level playing field to the stakeholders and fair deal to the consumers," said Interim Regulator RERA and Vice Chairman, Delhi Development Authority, Delhi, Udai Pratap Singh

Mr Dilbag shared his views on how Haryana Government is working on this and planning to get this in action. Mr Anthony shared his thoughts on How Madhya Pradesh got RERA in action as they are the first one to submit the draft. Ms Vini Sharma also shared her perspective on Punjab and the real estate industry and effects and implications of RERA.

Mr Anil Kumar Sharma spoke about the implications faced by DDA and NCR real Estate.

The conference has put spotlight on the major RERA rules with different states taking it up and their drafts, Other than this panel discussion on CLSS scheme and highlighting its major aspects and benefits for buyers were the major emphasis of the conference.
